Mässrestauranger actively works to promote a better and sustainable environment
Our work is based on our values as well as our employees’ personal environmental commitment.
The continuous environmental work is also a way of meeting the expectations of our customers as more and more make increasing environmental demands on the products and services they purchase. This applies particularly to food, beverage and restaurant visits.
During an intensive fair week, our restaurants serve nearly 50,000 cups of coffee. In one year, it is almost a million cups. By serving only organic and Fair Trade coffee, we are able to protect the environment and also contribute to a more sustainable society.
With our environmental commitment, we want to be a modern and attractive employer, who attracts dedicated employees, who, along with us, are willing to work for a more sustainable world.
The largest Swan eco-labeled company in Sweden
As a proof of our efforts, Mässrestauranger met the Nordic eco-label Swan’s tough environmental requirements, 2008. We became Sweden’s so far largest catering company to be awarded the Swan eco-label. Since 2009, Mässrestauranger is also the member of the Swan club.
Recyclable and biodegradable disposable material
As a Swan labeled restaurant, our environmental effort encompasses all aspects and meets the requirements in five areas: 1. Food and beverage 2. Chemical products and consumables 3. Energy and water 4. Waste and transports 5. Goals and plans for further environmental work
This means, among other things, that we only serve organic and Fair Trade coffee, organic tea and KRAV labeled milk at all our restaurants. Of all the disposable material that we buy, 2/3rds are recyclable and biodegradable. This means that even the office paper we use is Swan labeled just as the copier and printer. Of all the cleaning material used, 90 percent is eco-labeled.
