For us at Mässrestauranger, culture, art and design are the key
ingredients of our business
And not least, our corporate culture, but for us it is also important to highlight both the national and international art and cultural scene.
No wonder
We are convinced that the beautiful and pleasant surroundings add to the food and service. We have therefore chosen to adorn our dining rooms with lithography, photography and original paintings. These works are sometimes borrowed by art galleries and institutions in Sweden. This perhaps says something about the quality of our small yet good collection.
Mässrestauranger are the proud owners of two carpets woven by Märta Måås Fjetterström, MMF in Båstad. These carpets, made of knotted pile fabric adorn our restaurant The Garden. The carpet Slottsparken by Ernst Billgren adorns our private chamber in The Garden and Jochum Nordström’s rag carpet adorns the bright bar area.
Our restaurant aesthetics
We have furnished most of our restaurants using both International and Swedish contemporary design. Our ideas and furnishings are presented in detail below.
Exhibition corridor: In the summer of 2009, the restaurants in the AB-galleria were refurbished by Akabaliev and Rosenbergs arkitekter. The starting point for the work was to create a sense of whole. By using soft and comfortable forms, our goal was to create a harmonious place in an intense environment. The choice of material is bright, simple and inspired by nature to provide an inviting and peaceful atmosphere. All the furnishing material is recyclable and manufactured locally including the floor, benches and coffee counter which are of wood. Tables, service and recycling stations are of powder polished metal, white painted MDF and the work top is of Corian. The white plastic chair called The Panton Chair is from the 1960s by Herman Miller/Vitra.
The Garden: The restaurant is designed by Akabaliev & Barrow in collaboration with Rosenbergs arkitekter. Most of the furnishings have been purchased and delivered by Dahls Agenturer in Stockholm White bar stools with black seats are from the Spanish Viccarbe, designed by Patricia Urqiola. The orange veneer lamps on the ceiling are from Luzifer Lamps designed by Marivi Calvo. The broadloom carpet is designed by Akabaliev. The textile Hawaii in white and brown background is by Josef Frank. Tables and chairs in the bar are from Driade, designed by Philippe Starck. White chandeliers called Dandelion are from Moooi. The bar counter is from C&D Snickeri. The unique glass roof with glass beams, hot glass and built-in drainage is designed by Rosenbergs arkitekter, and the material is supplied by Fasadglas AB. The elaborate decor and design is unique, specially designed for The Garden. The interior fittings include design articles by Philippe Starck and textiles by Josef Frank. The walls are decorated with textile artwork by Märta Måås Fjetterström, MMF, in Båstad.
The Parkside - the Farm restaurant is designed by Akabaliev & Barrow in collaboration with Rosenbergs arkitekter. Most of the furnishings have been purchased and delivered by Dahls Agenturer in Stockholm The dining chairs, just as the bar stools, are manufactured by Italienska Bross. The fabric covering the chairs, Straw is from Bogesunds Väveri in Ulricehamn and is designed by Karin Nilsson. Horses and pigs are from Moooi, designed by the design group Front. Leather poufs and the three-legged tray tables Calder are from Driade that can also be placed behind the chair Flo by Patricia Urquiola. Special woodworks have been crafted by Snickman Production. The colourful candlesticks of Plexiglas are from the Italian Sawaya & Moroni.
The light walls have been supplied by Ercos and the light control systems by Light Studio. The wall to wall carpets are designed by Ivan Akvabaliev and Hans Samuelsson, supplied by Heltäckande Mattor AB and manufactured at Hijo de Augusto Mas in Spain. The glass walls are from Hawa.
